Lissette designs her two labels Libertine and Tantrum from her Grey Lynn office in Auckland, New Zealand.
Her mother taught her to sew at a young age, and going into design was a natural progression from her first fashion job as an assistant buyer. At 21 Lissette left her job to get a degree in fashion design and went on to spend over 20 years as a production designer for large scale wholesale garment companies. Lissette has a passion for fabric and prints and soon developed her own label, Libertine – creating original prints that bring a feeling of luxury and sophistication, with a touch of whimsy.
With the success of Libertine, Lissette created a new label, Tantrum – full of fun graphic prints and designs to appeal the to trend base customer and women on the run who need their clothes to work as hard as they do.
Lissette has a passion for interiors, vintage jewellery and designer shoes – all of which inspire her collections. She lives in Auckland with her partner, son and two fur babies.
